Day 02: In Delhi
After a scrumptious breakfast, morning will be at your leisure. Enjoy an exciting and memorable sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi. Visit the magnificent Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Humayun's Tomb, Qutub Minar, India Gate and the Lotus Temple. In the evening enjoy a colorful and entertaining Dances of India Show followed by a delicious dinner. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 03: Delhi - Agra
After a delectable Indian breakfast, we drive to Agra - the city of the Taj (approx. 4 hrs). En route, halt awhile at Sikandra to visit the Emperor Akbar's Mausoleum - a beautiful sandstone and marble structure, representing a fine blend of Islamic, Hindu, Buddhist, Jain and Christian motifs and styles. Continue driving to Agra and check in at a hotel of your choice on arrival. After freshening up, visit the magnificent Taj Mahal- a symbol of eternal love and romance, and perhaps the most beautiful historical monument in the world. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Agra.
Day 04: Agra - Jaipur
Today, wake up early to enjoy an early morning visit to the fascinating Taj Mahal. The Taj looks extremely enchanting at sunrise when it changes its color from a light pink to white. Later, visit the magnificent 16th century Agra Fort. A UNESCO world heritage site, the red sandstone fort houses many fairy-tale palaces- Jahangir Palace and the Khas Mahal, and audience halls- Diwan-e-Khas and Diwan-e-Aam.
Thereafter, we drive to Jaipur, en route visiting the 16th century town of Fatehpur Sikri, famous for its towering Bulund Darwaza (Gate of Magnificence), and the Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti, a great Sufi saint of India. Continue driving to Jaipur, the Pink City of Rajasthan. Arrive at Jaipur and check into the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 05: Jaipur
After a scrumptious breakfast, you start for a memorable sightseeing tour of Jaipur. Enjoy an exciting elephant ride up to the majestic 17th century Amber Fort. Located on the outskirts of the pink city, Amber Fort represents a fascinating blend of Hindu and Muslim architecture, in red sandstone and white marble. Thereafter visit the Jantar Mantar- the Royal Observatory famous for its astonishing medieval astronomical instruments. Also see the enchanting City Palace and Museum, the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), the beautiful Rambagh Palace, and walk-through the intricately carved havelis (mansions) of Jaipur. In the evening, enjoy a walking tour of the bustling streets and markets of Jaipur, which are full of exquisite handicrafts, embroidered textiles, paintings, and a profusion of mirror work. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Jaipur.
Day 06: Jaipur - Delhi -Haridwar
After breakfast today, you will enjoy an exciting excursion to the fascinating medieval town of Sanganer, known for its ruined palaces, exquisitely carved Jain temples, and block printed textiles. Thereafter, we drive back to Delhi to board an overnight train to Haridwar.
Day 07: Arrive Haridwar
On arrival to the Haridwar you will be met with Indian Horizons representative and transferred to a hotel, located on the ghats (banks) of the sacred river Ganges. In the evening, enjoy the spectacular sight of Aarti at Har-ki-pauri when thousands of Diyas (Lantern lamp) and marigold flowers float and illuminate the holy waters, offering a breathtaking sight to visitors. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Haridwar.
Day 08: Haridwar
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and move to a traditional ashram. Here you can freely interact with the swamis and saints, who will teach you various yoga and meditation techniques. Overnight stay will be at the Ashram in Haridwar.
Day 09: Haridwar
Practice early morning yoga and meditation amidst fresh and refreshing environment and spend the rest of the day at the Ashram to understand the doctrine of the Absolute that is Oneness of all life. Overnight stay will be at the Ashram in Haridwar.
Day 10: Haridwar - Delhi
Practice early morning yoga and meditation amidst fresh and refreshing environment and spend your half of the day at the Ashram. After lunch, we drive to Delhi. On arrival at Delhi, proceed to the Int'l airport to board a flight for your onward destination or way back home with sweet memories of India Tour.
