Day 01: Arrive in Cochin – Transfer to Kumarakom
Arrive in Cochin where an Indian Horizons representative will be waiting to brief you about your Kerala Wildlife and Backwater Tour. Later in the day drive to Kumarakom and check in at the resort. In the afternoon visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. Have an overnight stay in Kumarakom.

Day 02 & 03: Kumarakom - Periyar
On the second day of your Kerala Wildlife and Backwater Tour you will drive to Periyar Tiger Reserve, counted in one of the 16 Project Tiger Reserves in India. Spread over an area of 777 sq. km, Periyar National Park is estimated to be a home of more than 800 Indian elephants. Have fun on a boat ride on Periyar Lake and watch elephants bathing there. Have an overnight stay in Periyar.
Day 04 & 05: Periyar - Munnar
Today you will go on a morning drive to Munnar, major center of Kerala’s tea industry. Arrive at Munnar and check in at the hotel. In the afternoon visit Eravikulam National Park, which is established to protect the Nilgiri Tahr, the only mountain goat in the southern Himalayas. Spread over an area of 97 sq. kms, Eravikulam National Park is a place worth exploring. Watch out a variety of animal and bird species here. Have an overnight stay in Munnar.
Day 06: Munnar – Alleppey - Houseboat
On the 6th day of your Kerala Wildlife and Backwater Tour, you will drive to Alleppey, known for its coconut plantations and houseboats. Arrive at Alleppey and board a Houseboat Cruise that drifts along the backwaters. These houseboats, also known as Kettuvallams are designed to yield comfort to the guests. They are constructed with eco-friendly material and in all there are around 150 such boats in Alleppey. Have meals aboard the houseboat along with an overnight stay.
Day 07: Houseboat - Cochin
In the morning leave the houseboat to proceed for Cochin. Arrive at Cochin and check in at the hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure and visit the home of an acclaimed Kerala chef and watch cooking demonstrations. Also, attend Kathakali dance performances at night. You will also get to see how the dancers paint themselves before a performance. You will be briefed about all by our guide. Have an overnight stay in Cochin.
Day 08: Cochin
Explore Cochin with an Indian Horizons guide. Cochin, also called Kochi, is known as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea”. Visit places like the Dutch Palace, St. Francis Church, Fort Cochin and Jew Town in Cochin. Also, enjoy watching sunset on a sunset cruise on the Arabian Sea. Have an overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 09: Cochin Departure
On the last day of your Kerala Wildlife and Backwater Tour you will get transferred to Cochin Airport along with an Indian Horizons representative. Board the flight back home or to your further destination from the airport.
