Day 02: Delhi
On the second day of your Taj, Tigers and Temples Tour, you will go on a sightseeing tour of Delhi with an Indian Horizon guide. Drive along the famous Rajpath, Vijay Chowk, India Gate, President’s House and the Parliament House. Qutab Minar, Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat and Birla Mandir are some other places worth visiting during sightseeing in Delhi. Enjoy shopping in the Chandni Chowk and Karol Bagh. Return to the hotel later for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Delhi - Jabalpur
Today you will go on a half-day sightseeing tour in Delhi. Visit places like Lotus Temple of Bahai religion, Lakshmi Narayan Temple and the National Museum. Relax in the afternoon and in the evening leave for the railway station to board the train to Jabalpur. At night go on an overnight journey to Jabalpur.
Day 04: Kanha National Park
Arrive at Jabalpur station and go on a short distance drive to Chausath Yogini Mandir to admire its stone carvings and breathtaking architecture. Have fun on boat rides there at the side of the Narmada River. Have breakfast and then go on a 5 hrs bus journey to Kanha National Park. Arrive at Kanha and check in at the lodge for a 3 night stay. If you reach there on time enjoy going on a game drive and if you are lucky enough you might sight a tiger. Have an overnight stay at Kanha.
Day 05 & 06: Kanha National Park
After having breakfast go on a game drive to Kanha, the place described in Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book”. Kanha National Park is a home to about 22 mammal species like wild pigs, jackals, spotted deer, swamp deer, langur and black bucks. Tigers, wild dogs, Indian fox, panthers and jungle cats can also be seen at Kanha National Park. It also houses more than 200 bird species. You will spend two days enjoying game viewing at Kanha National Park. Have an overnight stay at Kanha.
Day 07: Bandhavgarh National Park
On the 7th day of your Taj, Tigers and Temples Tour you will drive to Bandhavgarh National Park, set up in the Vindhyan Ranges. Bandhavgarh National Park is a home to a white tigers and other animal species like sambar deer, barking deer, blue bull and Indian bisbon. Return to the hotel or lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 08 & 09: Bandhavgarh National Park
Post breakfast enjoy going on game viewing at Bandhavgarh National Park, also known as a Tiger Reserve. A safari in the Bandhavgarh Park lets you see different animals and bird species like the Chinkaras, Nilgai, Python, Black Kite, Fowl, Dove and so on. In the park you will see Sal forest all around. Spread over an area of 448 sq. km, Bandhavgarh is a delight to be explored for flora and fauna lovers. Have an overnight stay at Bandhavgarh.
Day 10: Khajuraho
Begin the 10th day of your Taj, Tigers and Temples Tour with a 6 to 7 hrs drive to Khajuraho, known for famous temples and erotic sculptures. Originally there were 85 temples at Khajuraho but now only 22 exist. Arrive at Khajuraho and check in at the hotel.
Day 11: Khajuraho
Today you will walk around the temple complex in the vicinity of your hotel in Khajuraho. You will then explore all the three types of temple groups, namely, Western, Eastern and Southern Groups. Let yourself be enchanted watching the erotic sculptures carved on the walls of these temples of Khajuraho. Then have an overnight stay at Khajuraho.
Day 12: Orchha – Agra
Today you will head towards Jhansi at a distance of 190 kms for boarding a train to Agra in the evening. On your way before reaching Jhansi, you will have a stoppage at Orchha. Orchha, the medieval city captured in stone is a place worth visiting during Taj, Tigers and Temples Tour. Explore temples and palaces in Orchha and then continue to your drive to the station at Jhansi. Arrive in Agra and check in at the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 13: Agra
Post breakfast go on a half-day city tour of Agra. Visit places like the majestic Agra Fort that stands on the banks of Yamuna River. Then you will visit Taj Mahal, the famous monument of love counted in the Seven Wonders of the World. Built by Shah Jahan for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal was built by over 20,000 laborers in 17 years. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Have an overnight stay in Agra.
Day 14: Varanasi
Today you will board a flight to Varanasi. Arrive at Varanasi and go on a guided excursion to Sarnath, the place where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon. Visit various Stupas and other large gardens and monuments at Sarnath. Then check in at the hotel in Varanasi.
Day 15: Varanasi
On the 15th day of your Taj, Tigers and Temples Tour you will enjoy an early morning boat ride on the River Ganges. Explore different ghats of the city and visit the temples like Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Mandir, Durga Temple and Alamgir Mosque. Spend the rest of the day at leisure by exploring crowded lanes and markets of Varanasi. Have an overnight stay in Varanasi.
Day 16: Delhi
Today you will catch a flight to Delhi. On arrival in Delhi, check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 17: Delhi Departure
On the last day of your Taj, Tigers and Temples Tour you will get transferred to the airport to board a flight to home or your further destination.
