Beypore Beach
Located just 10 kms to the south of Kozhikode, Beypore was one of the most prominent Ports and fishing harbors of ancient Kerala. The Beypore Beach was also an important trade and Maritime centre. The boat-building yard at this beach is famous for the construction of a traditional Arabian trading vessel called Uru.
Away from the hustle-bustle and tensions of daily life, the Beypore Beach in Kerala is one of the most remote and yet popular Beaches of the region. It is a perfect place for relaxing and unwinding yourself. Treating your pale and urban drawn skin to a bronze treat is an indulgence that all visitors of Beypore Beach love to do. While some others just simply sit back and sunbath watching their kids of friends play around in the crystal blue waters of the sea. A number of villages are lined along the beach where life still goes on as it used to about 100 years ago. Taking a peek into the routine of these fisherman's villages while taking a stroll on the Beypore beach is an added charm of the place.
Positioned at the opening of the Chaliyar River in Kozhikhode district, a distinctive facet of the Beypore beach is a bridge made up of huge piled up running almost 2 kms into the sea.
