Day 02: Delhi
Explore Delhi on the second day of your North India Highlights Tour accompanied with an Indian Horizon guide, who will take you to fascinating sites of both Old and New Delhi. Jama Masjid, Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and Raj Ghat are some of the places worth visiting. You will also drive through the President House, Parliament, Sikh Temple and India Gate. Go on a shopping spree in the colorful markets of Delhi like Chandni Chowk, Connaught Place and Karol Bagh. Return to the hotel for an overnight stay at Delhi.
Day 03: Udaipur
After breakfast proceed to Udaipur, the city of lakes. Arrive at Udaipur and check in at the hotel. Relax and in the evening enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola. Explore Jagmandir and Jagniwas palaces on Lake Pichola. Jagniwas has now been turned in to a 5-star hotel. You can also go on boat rides from Bansi Ghat. Have an overnight stay in Udaipur.
Day 04: Udaipur
Known as the center of historic crafts and arts of Mewar, Udaipur is worth exploring during Rajasthan Heritage Hotels Tour. Visit the City Palace, built in 1725 it is an amalgam of 11 palaces overlooking the dazzling Lake Pichola. Also visit Jagdish Temple that was built by Maharaja Jagat Singh in 1651. Fateh Sagar built in 1678 is a worth visiting place in Udaipur. Have a refreshing time exploring the Saheliyon ki Bari, small ornamental garden meant for the maids of the royal family of the bygone era. Have an overnight stay in Udaipur.
Day 05: Kumbhalgarh
Proceed to Kumbhalgarh by road. On your way visit Ranakpur, known for its Jain Temples. Visit the main temples “Chaumukha Temple, also known as the Four Faced temple. Then arrive at Kumbhalgarh and check in at the hotel. Then proceed to visit the Kumbhalgarh Fort. You will be enchanted watching the impressive architecture of the majestic fort. Have an overnight stay in Kumbhalgarh.
Day 06: Deogarh
Proceed to Deogarh, located at a distance of 70 kms from Kumbhalgarh. Arrive at Deogarh and check in to the hotel. Enjoy exploring the Deogarh Mahal built in the 17th century. Watch breathtaking views of the Aravalli Hills from the Deogarh Mahal. Also visit Rajasamand Lake, famous for its migratory birds. Return to the Mahal and explore its fascinating rooms like Sheesh Mahal. Have an overnight stay in Deogarh.
Day 07: Deogarh
Go on a village safari tour, known as ‘rural ramble’. It is a Jeep Safari, during which you will visit tribes and local villagers and see their ways of living and interact with them. Later return to the resort for an overnight stay.
Day 08: Pushkar
You will continue your journey to Pushkar. Counted among the most important pilgrimage sites for Hindus that has the only Temple of Lord Brahma, Pushkar is surrounded by a sacred lake, called Pushkar Lake. . It takes only 45 minutes to walk around the holy lake. Witness the aarti or worship along with the chanting ceremony at the famous Brahma Temple in Pushkar. Have an overnight stay at Pushkar.
Day 09: Pushkar
On the 9th day of your North India Highlights Tour you will visit the nearby Ajmer, known as one of the most important pilgrimage for Indian Muslims. Pay a visit to the ancient Dargah Sharif in Ajmer, the burial place of Sufi saint Khwaja Mu’inuddin Chishti. It is believed that a visit to this shrine fulfills a devotee’s wish. Also explore the Arhaj-din-ka Jhonpra that was built in 1155.
Day 10: Jaipur
Proceed to the colorful capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur. On your way, have a stoppage at Kishangarh, famous for its finest school of miniature paintings. From there you will again resume on your journey to Jaipur, also known as the ‘Pink City’.
Day 11: Jaipur
Explore the majestic City Palace, Amber Fort and Samode Palace, located at an hour’s distance from Jaipur. You will also visit the Kali Temple and Jagmandir. Enjoy an elephant ride at Amber Fort. Visit the Jantar Mantar Observatory in the afternoon, Hawa Mahal and Museum Then enjoy going on a shopping spree in Jaipur, a bargain hunter’s paradise. Have an overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 12: Agra
Having breakfast, drive to Agra. On your way visit the famous Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary housing more than 350 bird species, both resident and migratory. Then visit to the famous city of Fatehpur Sikri and explore the Tombs of Itmad-ud-Daulah and Akbar. Arrive in Agra and check in to the hotel. Have an overnight stay at Agra.
Day 13: Agra – Lucknow
Post breakfast go on a half day sightseeing tour of Agra. Visit the beautiful Agra Fort made on red sandstone. Agra Fort stands on the banks of Yamuna River and is enclosed with 20-meter high walls. Have a memorable time exploring the wonderful Taj Mahal. Shah Jahan built Taj Mahal as a token of love for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. More than 20,000 laborers worked for 17 years to complete the construction of this beautiful structure in Agra. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Get transferred to the Tundla Railway Station in the evening to board the Avadh Express to Lucknow, the glorious capital of Uttar Pradesh. Here ends the 13th day of your North India Highlights Tour.
Day 14: Lucknow
Early morning arrival in Lucknow and check in to the hotel. Relax a while and then visit the Bara Imambara or Great Imambara. You will also explore the Rumi Darwaza, a replica of an entrance gate built in Istanbul. Later you will proceed to visit the Hussainabad Imambara, also called Chhota Imambara that was built by Mohd. Ali Shah in 1837. Have an overnight stay in Lucknow.
Day 15: Allahabad
On the 15th day of your North India Highlights Tour, you will embark on your journey to Allahabad that will take 5 hours. Arrive at Allahabad and check in at the hotel. Allahabad is the place, where to will see the junction of the great rivers, Ganga and Yamuna. You will also visit the Anand Bhawan, the shrine to the Nehru family. Have fun going on the boat cruise in the evening and watch out the sunset. Have an overnight stay in Allahabad.
Day 16: Varanasi
Proceed to Varanasi, located at a distance of 125 kms from Allahabad. Varanasi is known for its ghats on the Holy Ganges. Counted as one of the holiest Indian pilgrimage sites, Varanasi is a home to Lord Shiva. Arrive at Varanasi and check in at the hotel. Have a peaceful time by hiring a car and visiting Sarnath, where Buddha first revealed his Eightfold Path to Nirvana. Explore the archaeological ruins, Buddhist monasteries and temples at Sarnath. Watch out for several Buddhist structures and stupas that were built in Sarnath between 3rd century BC and 11th century AD. Have an overnight stay in Varanasi.
Day 17: Delhi
Post breakfast enjoy a boat ride on the Ganges Head to Dasashwamedh Temple and watch Ganga Aarti that lasts for 45 minutes. After that, you will visit the ancient Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Mandir, Durga Temple and other ancient temples. Then return to the hotel and relax a while. Later boars the flight back to Delhi.
Day 18: Departure
Last day of your North India Highlights Tour begins with a sumptuous breakfast followed by an airport transfer. Board the flight back home or to your further destination. Here ends the North India Highlights Tour.
