Day 01: Cochin
On arrival at the Cochin airport, you will be met by the Indian Horizons representative, who will escort and transfer you to the hotel. Overnight in the hotel at Cochin.
Day 02: Cochin
After breakfast proceed on a sightseeing tour with Indian Horizons guide. You explore the fascinating Portuguese town, where you visit the Fort Cochin, Jewish Synagogue and Spice markets. Later, Indian Horizons would organize a Kathakali Dance performance for you. Before the performance you will taken to the green room where you can see the dancers dressing up for the performance. The dressing up for the Kathakali is the most exciting and important part of the dance. You would see the dancers applying natural colors to their face, hands and feet. Indian Horizons guide would brief you about the nitty-gritty of the traditional dance. Overnight in the hotel at Cochin.
Day 03: Cochin-Kumarakom
In the morning proceed to Kumarakom by road. Kumarakom is the gateway to the backwaters of Kerala. Upon arrival check into the backwater resort, where you would spend the day at leisure. Day 05: Kumarakom-Periyar

The tour will be followed by a boat ride on the Periyar Lake. During the boat ride you will be able to spot wild animals. You can see various animals simply grazing, drinking or bathing in the lake. Day 06: Periyar-Kodaikanal
In the morning drive to Kodaikanal- a popular hill station in South India. It is known as Kodi locally and is centered round a lake and terraced fields. Kodaikanal is located in the Pali hills in southern Tamil Nadu. Upon arrival check into the hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight in the hotel Kodaikanal.
Day 07: Kodaikanal
The day is free to relax. You can simply sit and enjoy the hospitality of your hotel or can explore the beauty of Kodaikanal on your own. Overnight in the hotel at Kodaikanal.
Day 08: Kodaikanal-Madurai
After breakfast drive to Madurai a city of antiquity and the capital of the Pandyas. This city was the meeting point for various poets, academics, writers, builders and artisans. On arrival check into the hotel. In the afternoon visit the world famous Meenakshi Temple, the Palace of King Triumalay, Gandhi Museum and the Temple at Alaghat Koli. Overnight in the hotel at Madurai.
Day 09: Madurai-Trichy
Drive to Trichy in the morning after breakfast. Trichy is associated with history from Chola period to the 18th century. Upon arrival check into the hotel. In the afternoon head for the sightseeing tour with Indian Horizons guide. You visit the Rock Fort, Sirangam and Jambukeshwar Temples. Overnight in the hotel at Trichy.
Day 10: Trichy-Tanjore
After breakfast drive to Tanjore, which was the seat of the Chola Empire during the medieval period. Upon arrival check into the hotel. In the afternoon Indian Horizons guide will visit take you to the Birhadeswara Temple, which is more than 200 feet in height and constructed in the Dravidian truncated pyramid form. The temple has a huge lingam in its sanctorum. In the inner shrine of the temple, you can see a large statue of Nandi-the bull, vehicle of lord Shiva. Overnight in the hotel at Tanjore.
Day 11: Tanjore-Pondicherry
After breakfast drive to Pondicherry and check into the hotel. In the afternoon Indian Horizons guide will take you to the Aurobindo Ashram and Museum. Overnight in the hotel at Pondicherry.
Day 12: Pondicherry- Mahabalipuram
After breakfast drive to Mahabalipuram via Kanchipuram. Kanchipuram is famous for its hand woven silk fabrics. Upon arrival check into hotel. Overnight in the hotel at Mahabalipuram
Day 13: Mahabalipuram
In the morning Indian Horizons guide will take you on a sightseeing tour of Mahabalipuram. You visit the Shore Temple, which is a fine example of early temple construction in South India and Penance of Bhagirata, the world's largest bas relief also known as "Arjuna's Penance". Overnight in the hotel at Mahabalipuram.
Day 14: Mahabalipuram-Chennai
After breakfast drive to Chennai. Upon arrival relax and explore Chennai. Later transfer to the airport to take a flight back home. Tour ends.
