Day 01: Calicut
On arrival at the Calicut airport, you will be met by the Indian Horizons representative, who will escort and transfer you to the hotel. Calicut is the place where Vasco Da Gama, the Portuguese explorer landed in 1498. Overnight in the hotel at Calicut.
Day 02: Calicut
In the morning after breakfast proceed to visit Beypore, the biggest wood market and traditional wooden ship making industry in Asia. The craftsmen have been making these Marakalam's in Beypore since the 18th Century. Overnight in the hotel at Calicut.
Day 03: Calicut-Mahe
After breakfast drive to Mahe, which is located on the shores of Arabian Sea. Mahe is known as the traditional and cultural city of Kerala. Upon arrival check into a private cottage, which is maintained by the Indian Horizons. In the afternoon proceed to visit the fort and mosque. Overnight in the cottage at Mahe.
Day 04: Mahe
After breakfast, Indian Horizons guide will take you to the Kerala Traditional Dance center to witness 'Thayum' and 'Kalari Pati', the dance and martial art form of Kerala respectively. Overnight in the cottage at Mahe.
Day 05: Mahe-Wyannad
In the morning after breakfast drive to Wyannad, which is famous for the lush green rainforests. Upon arrival check into an eco-friendly resort, which would be arranged for you by Indian Horizons. The resort would provide you a wonderful opportunity for bird watching, trekking and elephant ride at the nearby Muthanga Sanctuary. Overnight in the hotel at Wyannad.
Day 06: Wayannad
The day is marked to visit the nearby tribal village and museum. Indian Horizons would arrange the visit to the tribal village and museum. Day 07: Wayannad- Cheruthuruthy
After breakfast drive to Cheruthuruthy, which is famous for the school of traditional art and dance - Natya Kala Mandalam. Upon arrival check into the hotel. In the afternoon Indian Horizons guide will accompany you to the Natya Kala Mandalam. Here among other things you will come across local potters and weavers that are world famous for their dexterity. Day 08: Cheruthuruthy - Cochin
After breakfast, drive to Cochin and check into the hotel. In the afternoon explore the fascinating Portuguese town with Indian Horizons guide, where you visit the Fort Cochin, Jewish Synagogue and Spice markets. Later, Indian Horizons would organize a Kathakali Dance performance for you. Before the performance you will be taken to the green room where you can see the dancers dressing up for the performance. The dressing up for the Kathakali is the most exciting and important part of the dance. You would see the dancers applying natural colors to their face, hands and feet. Indian Horizons guide would brief you about the nitty-gritty of the traditional dance. Overnight in the hotel at Cochin.
Day 09: Cochin
After breakfast transfer to the Cochin airport to catch a flight back home. Tour ends.
